The number of reporting carriers varies as follows: 14 from 1987 to 1988, 13 in 1989, 12 from 1990 to 1991, 10 from 1992 to 1999, 11 in 2000, 12 in 2001, 10 in 2002, 18 in 2003, 19 in 2004, 20 from 2005 to 2008, 19 in 2009, 18 in 2010, 16 in 2011, 15 in 2012, 16 in 2013, 14 in 2014, 14 in 2015, 12 in 2016, 12 in 2017, 18 in 2018, 17 in 2019, 17 in 2020, 17 in 2021. (See Reporting Carriers by Year). In the dropdown list, All Major Carriers 1987-Present refers to the 10 major carriers that reported for all years or merged into another major carrier.
