Data Profile: National Air Quality Data - AIRS Database
National Air Quality Data - AIRS Database | Overview | Aerometric Information Retrieval System (AIRS) data is available from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Under the provisions of the Clean Air Act (CAA), which is intended to improve the quality of the air we breathe, EPA sets limits on how much of a pollutant can be in the air anywhere in the United States.
The AIRS database provides air monitoring data: ambient concentrations of criteria air pollutants at monitoring sites, primarily in cities and towns throughout 50 United States, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. | Coverage | The AIRS database contains measurements of "criteria air pollutant" concentrations in the 50 States, plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. | Availability | | | First Year | 1996 | Last Year | 2001 | Frequency | Annual | | Summary Tables | | National Transportation Statistics | | Areas in Nonattainment of National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Criteria Pollutants | | Related Links | | National Toxics Inventory
