   Overview
The Search and Rescue Management Information System (SARMIS) is compiled from U.S. Coast Guard incident reports. Summary data are provided for the number of incidents, rescues, lives saved, injuries, and fatalities. More recent data include detailed estimates of property damage, property damage that was avoided due to Coast Guard action, and lives lost before and after Coast Guard notification.

Available data series include 1) number of lives saved per year by the Coast Guard and 2) property damage incurred per year due to maritime incidents reported to the Coast Guard.
