Saint Lawrence Seaway Lock Operations Statistics | Overview | The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC), a wholly owned government corporation created to construct, operate and maintain the St. Lawrence Seaway between the Port of Montreal and Lake Erie, publishes lock delay statistics in its annual reports. Data are available for the number of hours of lock inoperability by cause and by type of lock malfunction.
Available data series include 1) hours of delay due to high wind, poor visibility, vessel incident, lock malfunction, water level, and civil interference and 2) hours of delay due to specified electrical and mechanical lock malfunctions.
