The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates changes in employment costs in Compensation Cost Trends (CCT), a part of the National Compensation Survey. CCT includes the Employment Cost Index, a quarterly measure of changes in labor costs, and the Employer Costs for Employee Compensation, an annual survey of employers' average hourly cost for total compensation and its components. Data are available by industry, occupational group, union and nonunion status, region, and metropolitan/nonmetropolitan status. Indexes use 1989 as the base year.
Available data series include 1) change in compensation by private and public sector, 2) change in compensation by industry, and 3) change in labor cost per hour worked.
