The Bureau of Labor Statistics tracks fatal work injuries in the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI). Data include occupation and other worker characteristics, equipment involved, and circumstances of the event. Multiple sources are used to identify, verify, and profile fatal worker injuries. CFOI is a Federal-State cooperative program that has been implemented in all 50 States and the District of Columbia since 1992.
Available data series include 1) fatalities by salary/wage, sex, age, and race, 2) fatalities by industry and occupation, 3) fatalities by cause, and 4) fatalities by state.
