The Bureau of Labor Statistics collects data on unemployment. Data are subdivided by age, gender, race and Hispanic origin, marital status, educational attainment, duration of unemployment, and reason for unemployment. Data are also available by industry and occupation. Available data series include unemployed persons by occupation, industry, duration of unemployment, reason for unemployment, and methods used to find employment.
