   Overview
The Great Lakes Saint Lawrence Seaway System collects annual maritime shipping data for two passages of the Saint Lawrence Seaway-the Lower Saint Lawrence River and the Welland Canal (which connects Lakes Erie and Ontario). Cargo tonnage is available for the following commodities: iron ore, coal, grain, and other cargo.

Available data series include 1) tonnage per year by commodity and 2) tonnage through the Lower Saint Lawrence River and the Welland Canal.
